Life is Strange: Before the Storm

Life is Strange: Before the Storm

The other day, I think it was last Sunday, I bought this game (Life is Strange: Before the Storm) via the Steam platform.

Having played the first game (Life is Strange) where we controlled Max Caulfield in the town of Arcadia Bay with the power to rewind time. What I liked about that game it’s that the decisions you take affect the narrative of the game. And you can rewind time to change decisions. If you haven’t played it, I highly recommend it. The story is 100% enjoyable. And that’s why I enjoy graphic adventure games more than anthing else: their story.

Trying out the Wacom Intuos Draw Small

Emily: Corpse Bride

Well… the other day I did a lineart and digital colouring of Emily, main character in Tim Burton’s movie: Corpse Bride.
If you haven’t watched it, I highly suggest it. It’s a little old (2005), but very good.

I did the art with a Wacom Intuos Draw Small that my brother loaned me.
I’m seriously thinking of getting one. Probably the Medium size one. The Wacom tablet is really good, much better than the one I used to use (a Genius MousePen), since it doesn’t slide that much when you draw as much as the Genius. And you can draw the lines very smoothly.
Probably I’ll do a review later if I get one of these.
The lineart is done in Photoshop, and the colouring with Photoshop’s Overlays.

I have to practice more, and improve the lines. I want them to appear smoother and without that much line-hair.

Installing macOS High Sierra on Unsupported Macs

Today I’m going to share a tool that allows you to install macOS High Sierra on unsupported Macs (the latest version of the macOS operative system tikl date). Although the tool doesn’t work 100% on all Macs/Macbooks, but if you have an old Mac and want to prolong it’s life, you can give the tool a try.

Luckily for me, I have a Macbook Late 2008 Aluminum Unibody, and officially my Macbook doesn’t support High Sierra, nor Sierra. But with the High Sierra Patch Tool I could install it on my Macbook. At least, I can prolong my Macbook a couple of years more.

On the patch’s website, there’s a list of supported and unsupported Macs. You also have to consider that depending on the Wi-Fi card you have on your computer, the card won’t work correctly with this patch.. You can leave the latest supported version of macOS, or change the Wi-Fi Card, or use a USB Wi-Fi dongle. In the patch’s website there’s a list of unsupported Wi-Fi cards.

In case we have an unsupported Mac, but it’s supported by this patch, the installation is really simple. You just have to apply the patch to the High Sierra installer, and then create a USB bootable device. We can do a clean install or just upgrade our system. I’ve opted for a clean install.

How to learn faster from VideoTutorials

Hi… this is the official first post of the blog. So I’m going to share you a trick to learn faster from videotutorials.

Learning from videotutorials in some cases (or on most cases) is pretty slow. Because we also depend on the talking speed of the instructor and sometimes it can be really slow. So today I’m going to share you a tip or secret I use to learn faster from the videotutorials. It’s about increasing the speed of the video to an understandable speed without losing the pitch. We can double the speed or more and so, we can save some time. For instance, a 20 minute videotutorial, we can learn it in 10 minutes, easily.

For the videotutorials that we have saved on our computer, I recommend using the VideoLAN VLC video player (available on Windows, MacOS and Linux). You can use other video players, but not all of them have the ability to increase the speed without losing the pitch. With VLC you can do fine increases, and you can also increase the volume a little bit higher than normal.

As for the videotutorials on YouTube, you can do the same thing, just keep reading.
